http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2015/06/25/germans-dont-think-america-stands-for-freedom-anymore/

To many, America is synonymous with freedom. The country dubbed itself the “land of the free” and, when trying to reclaim sliced and fried potatoes from the French, briefly attempted to rename “French fries” as “freedom fries.

Yet America’s global reputation for personal freedom has taken a beating over the last couple of years. Data from Pew Global Research suggests a dramatic fall in the number of people around the world who say the U.S. government respects the freedom of its people.

The issue may be most stark in Germany. Back in 2013, a whopping 81 percent of Germans polled by Pew thought that the U.S. government respected personal freedom. Then, in 2014, it was 58 percent. Now, according to figures released by Pew this week, just 43 percent of Germans think the U.S. government respects the freedom of its citizens. Fifty-three percent think it doesn’t.

There are only three other countries listed by Pew where those who think America doesn’t respect personal freedom are in the majority, and all have an antagonistic relationship with the United States — Argentina, Turkey and Russia. Despite being a clear geopolitical ally, Germany’s naysayers have a far larger points lead than any of these nations: It is the only country where more than half of the population says the United States does not respect personal freedom.

In 2014, Pew attributed a global drop in perceptions of U.S. freedom to the NSA revelations and what it dubbed “the Snowden Effect.” However, while “the Snowden Effect” appears to have been a worldwide phenomena, in many countries it bounced back or stabilized in 2015. In Germany, pessimism about the personal freedom of Germans reached new nadirs.
Seems the South Carolina State Senator slain the other day voted in favor of the current status of the now ultra-controversial Confederate Flag that flies near the S.C. Capitol building.

My God.

I think that legislation was a compromise?

Maybe at the time, the Flag wasn’t as “disliked” as now?

While the mainstream media is decrying the fact that the Charleston shooting victim’s body was carried past a Confederate flag today, the good pastor may not have found it all that offensive.

In 2000, during his first term in the South Carolina State Senate, Pinckney actually voted in favor of H5028, the May 2000 compromise which placed the flag at its current location.

H5028 related to THE PERMANENT PLACEMENT OF THE UNITED STATES FLAG, THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE FLAG, AND THE SOUTH CAROLINA INFANTRY BATTLE FLAG OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA — Pinckney’s name is among the “93 yeas.” …

Slain Pastor Voted To Put Confederate Flag Where It Is

This week, the group behind the Internet Health Test has released the results of a study that analyzed tests performed by more than 300,000 Internet users, and it appears as though the test has served its purpose: Five major ISPs in the United States have been accused of deliberately slowing data from popular websites in dozens of cities across the country.

The Internet Health Test website launched last month is the brainchild of BattlefortheNet.com, a consortium of activist groups that are dedicated to an open and free Internet. The site encourages Internet users to perform a simple test that takes less than one minute, and it analyzes data connections in an effort to determine whether or not ISPs are intentionally slowing data speeds.

According to early findings released in a report this week, the answer is yes, ISPs are indeed slowing connections in many cases.

Time Warner CableVerizon and AT&T are among five ISPs named in the report that have been accused of deliberately slowing data traffic from certain Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). Popular web services with heavy traffic pay CDNs to help store and serve their content.

As an example, the study found that Comcast provided median download speeds from one CDN of 21.4Mbps during peak evening hours. During the same time period, AT&T provided median download speeds of 0.2Mbps.
We still see slavery. What most people don’t realize is the Civil War, along with President Lincoln, who was a very obvious dictator, didn’t plan on abolishing slavery. They planned enslaving every person via the 14th Amendment. An Amendment not many people know the full meaning of, and they succeeded. Each of those original colonies had their own system of self-government until the start of ‘northern aggression’ when the northern states began trying to supplant authority over the southern states. This is where the word confederate came from. Break it down, go back to simple English class and break that word down. It means anti-federalist. Anti-Federal Government. Against the US Federal Government. There is nothing on the flag that shows anything to do with racism, slavery, hatred, or white supremacy. In the next paragraphs, I will explain what it means.
First what you need to know is, all those states did not fly that same flag. The flag you see everyone making a fuss over right now, is technically the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia. I want you to look at the flag for a minute.

The 13 stars stand for the 13 states. Those 13 stars lay in an ‘X’. That ‘X’ is basically saying, those 13 states do not belong to the Federal government. The southern states withdrew from the union in a movement called “secession”, this is what pissed Lincoln off, because it was going to ruin his plan. There is nothing racist about that. What someone wants to make the flag mean to them, is their choice, but if you’re going to try to tell me that it’s about racism, slavery, hatred, and white supremacy, I’m going to call you ignorant. I’m also going to tell you that if you want to go down this road, you better be prepared to compare it to the US Flag.

Flags are flags, they are a piece of cloth. Seeing people get so bent out of shape about all of this just shows me how easily distracted people get over pointless debates, which the criminals in DC love! So if you are waiving a US Flag around while complaining about the “Confederate” flag, you better be doing some studying.

It’s really that simple….

MYTH  –   The War of 1861 – 1865 was fought over slavery.

FACT  –   Terribly untrue. The North fought the war over money. Plain and simple. When the South started Secession, Lincoln was asked, “Why not let the South go in peace?” To which he replied, “I can’t let them go. Who would pay for the government?” Sensing total financial ruin for the North, Lincoln waged war on the South. The South fought the War to repel Northern aggression and invasion.

MYTH  –   Only Southerners owned slaves.

FACT  –   Entirely untrue. Many Northern civilians owned slaves. Prior to, during and even after the War Of Northern Aggression.

Surprisingly, to many history impaired individuals, most Union Generals and staff had slaves to serve them! William T. Sherman had many slaves that served him until well after the war was over and did not free them until late in 1865.

U.S. Grant also had several slaves, who were only freed after the 13th amendment in December of 1865. When asked why he didn’t free his slaves earlier, Grant stated “Good help is so hard to come by these days.”

Contrarily, Confederate General Robert E. Lee freed his slaves (which he never purchased – they were inherited) in 1862!!! Lee freed his slaves several years before the war was over, and considerably earlier than his Northern counterparts. And during the fierce early days of the war when the South was obliterating the Yankee armies!

Lastly, and most importantly, why did NORTHERN States outlaw slavery only AFTER the war was over? The so-called “Emancipation Proclamation” of Lincoln only gave freedom to slaves in the SOUTH! NOT in the North! This pecksniffery even went so far as to find the state of Delaware rejecting the 13th Amendment in December of 1865 and did not ratify it (13th Amendment / free the slaves) until 1901!

MYTH  –   The Confederate Battle Flag was flown on slave ships.

FACT  –   NONE of the flags of the Confederacy or Southern Nation ever flew over a slave ship. Nor did the South own or operate any slaves ships. The English, the Dutch and the Portugese brought slaves to this country, not the Southern Nation.

BUT, even more monumental, it is also very important to know and understand that Federal, Yankee, Union ships brought slaves to America! These ships were from the New England states, and their hypocrisy is atrocious.

These Federals were ones that ended up crying the loudest about slavery. But without their ships, many of the slaves would have never arrived here. They made countless fortunes on the delivery of slaves as well as the products madefrom raw materials such as cotton and tobacco in the South.

This is the problem with Yankee history History is overwhelmingly portrayed incorrectly by most of the Federal & Yankee books and media.

MYTH  –   The Confederate Battle Flag represented the Southern Nation.

FACT  –   Not true. While the Southern Battle flag was carried into battle, the Southern Nation had 3 different National flags during the course of the war.

The First National flag was changed due to a resemblance of the US flag.

The Second National flag was subsequently modified due to the similarity to a flag of truce.

The Third National flag was the adopted flag of the Confederacy.

The Confederate Battle Flag was never a National Flag of the Confederacy. It was carried into battle by several armies such as the Army Of Northen Virginia and the Army of Tennessee. Was also used as a Naval Jack by the Confederate Navy.

MYTH  –   The Confederate Battle Flag is known as the “Stars & Bars”.

FACT  –   A common misconception. The First National Confederate Flag is correctly known as the “Stars & Bars”. The Confederate Battle Flag is known as the “Southern Cross”.

MYTH  –   The Confederate Battle Flag represents racism today.

FACT  –   The Confederate Battle Flag today finds itself in the center of much controversy and hoopla going on in several states. The cry to take this flag down is unjustified. It is very important to keep in mind that the Confederate Battle Flag was simply just that. A battle flag. It was never even a National flag, so how could it have flown over a slave nation or represented slavery or racism? This myth is continued by lack of education and ignorance. Those that villify the Confederate Battle Flag are very confused about history and have jumped upon a bandwagon with loose wheels.

MYTH  –   The United States Flag represented freedom.

FACT  –   No chance. The US flag flew over a slave nation for over 85 years! The North tolerated slavery and acknowledged it as a Division Of Labor. The North made a vast fortune on slavery and it’s commodities. It wasn’t until the South decided to leave the Union that the North objected. The North knew it could not survive without the Southern money. That is the true definition of hypocrisy.

MYTH  –   Abraham Lincoln was the Great Emancipator.

FACT  –   While Lincoln has went down in history as the Great Emancipator, many would not care to hear his real thoughts on people of color. Martyred President Abraham Lincoln was fervently making plans to send all freed slaves to the jungles of Central America once the war was over. Knowing that African society would never allow the slaves to return back to Africa, Lincoln also did not want the slaves in the US. He thought the jungles of Central America would be the best solution and conducive to the freed slaves best interest. The only thing that kept this from happening, was his assassination.

MYTH  –   The South revered slavery.

FACT  –   A very interesting fact on slavery is that at the time the War of 1861 -1865 officially commenced, the Southern States were actually in the process of freeing all slaves in the South. Russia had freed it’s servants in 1859, and the South took great note of this. Had military intervention not been forced upon the South, a very different America would have been realized then as well as now.

MYTH  –   The Confederate Army was comprised of rich slave owners.

FACT  –   Very far from true. The vast majority of soldiers in the Confederate Army were simple men of meager income. Most of which were hard working farmers and common men. Then, as now, very few rich men ever fight a war.

MYTH  –   Only the North had men of color in their ranks.

FACT  –   Quite simply a major falsehood of history. Many blacks, both free and of their own will, joined the Confederate Army to fight for their beloved Southern home. Additionally, men of other ethnic extraction fought as well. Oriental, Mexican & Spanish men as well as Native American Indians fought with pride for the South.

Today, many men of color are members in the heritage group SCV – Sons Of Confederate Veterans. These men of color and pride rejoice in their heritage. The continued attacks on the Southern Nation, The Confederacy, and her symbols are a terrible outrage to these fine people. These attacks should be denounced with as much fervor as those who denounce the South.

MYTH  –   The Confederate Flags are an authorized symbol of Aryan, KKK and hate groups.

FACT  –   Quite the contrary. These dispicable organizations such as the KKK and Aryans have taken a hallowed piece of history, and have plagued good Southern folks and the memories of fine Confederate Soldiers that fought under the flag with their perverse agenda. IN NO WAY does the Confederate Flag represent hate or violence. Heritage groups such as the SCV battle daily the damage done to a proud nation by these hate groups. The SCV denounces all hate groups, and pridefully boast HERITAGE – NOT HATE.

MYTH  –   The SCV – Sons Of Confederate Veterans are a racist, hate group.

FACT  –   This is a blatant attack on one of the finest heritage groups ever. The SCV – Sons Of Confederate Veterans are a historical, patriotic and non-political organization comprised of descendents of Confederate Soldiers and sailors dedicated to insuring that a true history of the 1861 -1865 period is preserved and presented to the public. The SCV continues to educate the public of the memory and reputation of the Confederate soldier as well as the motives for his suffering and sacrifice.

The SCV – Sons Of Confederate Veterans are in NO WAY affiliated with, nor does it recognize or condone the terrible legacy of hate groups such as the KKK.

As the chorus of those calling for the removal of the Confederate battle flag grows louder in the wake of last week’s massacre at a historic black church in Charleston, S.C., officials in several cities are considering what to do with other historical symbols — including statues, monuments and street names — of the Confederacy, some of which have been vandalized in recent days.

In Baltimore, county officials called on the city to give them approval to change the name Robert E. Lee Park, named for the Confederate Civil War general, to Lake Roland Park.

“In a region as diverse as the Baltimore Metropolitan area,” the officials wrote in a letter, “the new name is much more sensitive to the diverse population that visits and utilizes the park.”

In New Orleans, Mayor Mitch Landrieu said his office is taking a fresh look at some of the symbols, including a statue of Robert E. Lee, as the city approaches its 300th anniversary in 2018.

“These symbols say who we were in a particular time, but times change,” a spokesman said in a statement to the Times-Picayune newspaper. “Mayor Landrieu believes it is time to look at the symbols in this city to see if they still have relevance to our future.”

In Nashville, Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper called on state leaders to remove a bust of Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate general and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, from the state capitol.

“Symbols of hate shouldn’t be promoted by government,” Cooper wrote on Twitter.
Baltimore County calls on Baltimore City to change the name of Robert E. Lee park

Earlier this week, South Carolina lawmakers called for the removal of the Confederate flag at the state capitol in response to the church killings.

“Today, we are here in a moment of unity in our state, without ill will, to say it is time to move the flag from the capitol grounds,” South Carolina Gov. Haley said Monday at news conference where she was joined by Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott.

Haley’s call was echoed by major U.S. retailers, with Walmart, Amazon, eBay and Sears announcing bans on the sale of Confederate flag merchandise.

On Wednesday, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley joined the chorus, ordering Confederate flags taken down from the grounds of the state capitol.

“Do we pull down Silent Sam, the rebel soldier standing on McCorkle Place at UNC-Chapel Hill? Do we disassemble the 75-foot obelisk on the Capitol lawn in Raleigh? Do we pack up every bronze tribute on every courthouse lawn? No,” Josh Shaffer wrote in the Charlotte News & Observer. “History is offensive. We should keep it around as a reminder.”

Shaffer added: “For me, there’s a big difference between letting a monument stand in a park and raising a flag over a city. A flag is an active symbol, requiring care and maintenance. A statue is passive, left to the pigeons and the rain.”
JSUT LIKE ISIS IS DOING….

A spike in earthquakes across Oklahoma is forcing the state’s energy regulator to urgently consider tougher restrictions on drilling activity, a spokesman said on Wednesday, calling it a “game changer.”

From June 17 to 24, there have been 35 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater in the state, according to the Oklahoma Geological Survey. Particularly worrying for regulators, some of the recent quakes occurred in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, where there are no high-volume wastewater injection wells.

The spike in quakes comes roughly two months after new rules governing the disposal of briny wastewater from drilling took full effect. Drillers were directed by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC), which regulates the oil and gas industry, to stop disposing wastewater below the state’s deepest rock formation, believed to be one of the main causes of the quakes, and to reduce the depth of wells that already go that deep.

“We have to approach it anew,” said Matt Skinner, a spokesman for the OCC. “There’s been a huge increase. That’s a game-changer,” he said, referring to the recent jump in tremors.

Oklahoma has been grappling with a rise in seismic activity since 2009, amid an expansion of drilling activity that has doubled the state’s oil output in the last seven years.

The energy boom has created jobs and contributed to state coffers, but many residents are deeply uneasy about the tremors. Oklahoma has become ground zero in the oil industry’s struggle to break the connection between production and earthquakes.

Pope Francis on Sunday denounced what he calls the “great powers” of the world for failing to act when there was intelligence indicating Jews, Christians, homosexuals and others were being transported to death camps in Europe during World War II.

He also decried the deaths of Christians in concentration camps in Russia under the Stalin dictatorship, which followed the war.

The pope’s harsh assessments came in impromptu remarks during his visit to Turin, northern Italy, when he told young people he understands how they find it hard to trust the world.

“The great powers had photographs of the railway routes that the trains took to the concentration camps, like Auschwitz, to kill the Jews, and also the Christians, and also the Roma, also the homosexuals,” Francis said, citing the death camp in Poland. “Tell me, why didn’t they bomb” those railroad routes?

Referring to concentration camps that came “a little later” in Russia, Francis wondered aloud: “How many Christians suffered, were killed” there?

Lamenting the cynicism of world players in the 1930s and 1940s, Francis said: “the great powers divided up Europe like a cake.”

He also cited what he called the “great tragedy of Armenia” in the last century. “So many died. I don’t know the figure, more than a million, certainly. But where were the great powers then? They were looking the other way,” the pope said.

In April, the pope angered Turkey when he referred to the slaughter of Armenians by Turkish Ottomans as “genocide.”

In today’s world, he told the young people: “Everything is done for money.” He criticized those advocating peace while manufacturing or selling arms.

Francis reiterated his view that conflicts in the world today are tantamount to “a Third World War in segments.”

It’s unclear if the Clinton-Gore Confederate flag campaign button that has been prominent on social media was an official part of their 1992 presidential campaign.

And Hillary Clinton isn’t clarifying, nor is her team responding to questions about her husband honoring the flag as Arkansas governor in 1987.

TheBlaze left phone and email messages with the Clinton campaign Monday inquiring whether the button, and other similar designs sold on eBay, was part of the official campaign of Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

TheBlaze also asked if the former Arkansas first lady opposed now or opposed then an act signed by her husband honoring the Confederate flag. The Clinton campaign did not respond to either question.

So what is next? We ban The Dukes Of Hazzard from ever being replayed or sold in stores?

How about this… Educate yourself on the history of the flag, get some common sense, and realize that we’re all being played like a freakin fiddle every damn day, and this is just the beginning stages.

Removing a flag doesn’t remove racism, any more than removing the ingredient label from bubblegum makes it have no aspartame.
That’s pathetic. I hate these liberal bullshit kneejerk reactions. This will solve nothing other than trampling the First Amendment.
Idiots need to learn history and know that the rebel battle flag is a symbol of states rights, southern pride (I know black people that fly the flag), and those who were willing to stand up to a tyrannical federal government.
we also have the SC shooting as a false flag.  We went through the baltimore stuff before on the show, with the protests breaking out, and it happening RIGHT at the same time.
Now this, in the same time period.  Repeating history.  They WANT thi civil war to break out.

In a rare legal maneuver, an Orange County Superior Court judge Friday deviated from a mandated 25-year-to-life sentence for a man who sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl and sent him to prison for 10 years.

Kevin Jonas Rojano, 20, was convicted Dec. 3 of sodomizing a child younger than 10 and lewd or lascivious acts with a minor.

Rojano was playing video games in the garage of his Santa Ana home on June 4, 2014, when a 3-year-old girl, to whom he is related, wandered in to hang around, said Deputy District Attorney Whitney Bokosky. Rojano, who became sexually aroused by the child, pulled her pants down and assaulted her, Bokosky said.

The girl’s mother, meanwhile, tried to get into the garage as she looked for the child but realizing it was locked, started looking at a neighbor’s home, Bokosky said. This prompted the defendant, who had put his hands over the girl’s mouth to keep her from yelling for her mother, to have the child fondle him, Bokosky said.

Rojano then unlocked the garage door and when the mother returned, she took the girl, who appeared unharmed, into the home, Bokosky said. The crime came to light moments later when the girl complained of pain and her mother noticed that she was hurt, Bokosky said.

Rojano would normally be sentenced to a mandated 25 years to life term in prison, but Orange County Superior Court Judge M. Marc Kelly found that in this case that punishment would be unconstitutional.

Kelly agreed that under most circumstances the sentence would be appropriate.

“However, in looking at the facts of Mr. Rojano’s case, the manner in which this offense was committed is not typical of a predatory, violent brutal sodomy of a child case,” Kelly said. “Mr. Roiano did not seek out or stalk (the victim). He was playing video games and she wandered into the garage. He inexplicably became sexually aroused but did not appear to consciously intend to harm (the victim) when he sexually assaulted her.”

The defendant “almost immediately” stopped and “realized the wrongfulness of his act,” Kelly said.

“Although serious and despicable, this does not compare to a situation where a pedophilic child predator preys on an innocent child,” Kelly said. “There was no violence or callous disregard for (the victim’s) well-being.”

The judge also noted the defendant “has shown extreme remorse for his actions and has been willing to accept the consequences,” Kelly said. “Mr. Rojano was born into and raised in a dysfunctional familiar environment.”

Pointing to a doctor’s report, the judge said that while growing up the defendant suffered “a great deal of family disruption and abuse, making him an insecure, socially withdrawn, timid, and extremely immature young man with limited self-esteem.”

Bokosky said Kelly should have taken into account the defendant attempting to quiet the girl during the attack and that he resumed it when he felt the coast was clear. The prosecutor said her office will discuss an appeal of the judge’s sentence.
Agents will still troll local prisons and jails looking for immigrants, but they will no longer try to deport those with drug possession offenses, theft or fraud if it involved stealing an identity in order to further their unlawful presence in the country, the House Judiciary Committee said Tuesday.
Even some illegal immigrants who have been charged with serious felonies but who are released by the local authorities won’t be picked up by immigration agents until they’re actually convicted, the committee said.
So Obama is unleashing a flood of criminal illegals across the country at the same time he insists law-abiding legal Americans be disarmed.
