According to KTLA, police have warned people not to talk to the media. At one point during the KTLA live stream, the reporter attempted to interview a witness and multiple officers rushed up and pushed the reporters and the witnesses apart.
After the shooting began, San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Richard Lawhead said that their SWAT team happened to be conducting training nearby. The team was suited, “ready to roll” and responded rapidly, Lawhead said.
the target inside the Inland Regional Center was a gathering of government officials. This was confirmed by KTLA and Marybeth Feild, president and CEO of the Inland Regional Center, told the Associated Press that “the incident is in the conference area” at the center rented by an outside group, which she couldn’t identify.
President Barack Obama commented Wednesday on the shooting in San Bernardino, California, where at least 14 people were killed and an additional 14 were injured according to police. “We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world, and there’s some steps we could take, not to eliminate every one of these mass shootings, but to improve the odds that they don’t happen as frequently, common-sense gun safety laws, stronger background checks,” Obama said during an interview with CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell.

It has been recently scientifically validated that hugging trees is good for you. Research has shown that you don’t even have to touch a tree to get better — just being within its vicinity has a beneficial effect.
In a recently published book, Blinded by Science, the author Matthew Silverstone, proves scientifically that trees do in fact improve many health issues such as concentration levels, reaction times, depression, stress and other various forms of mental illness. He even points to research indicating a tree’s ability to alleviate headaches in humans seeking relief by communing with trees.
World leaders are discussing the climate in Paris, but it’s very much on the minds of activists closer to home. Members of the Energy Independent Vermont Coalition delivered to the Statehouse what they claim were more than 25-thousand postcards calling for the creation of a carbon tax and Energy Independence fund in Vermont.
Led by the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, the Energy Independent Vermont Coalition says they brought 25,241 postcards to the Statehouse demanding climate change action. The postcards read: “Dear Representative…. It’s time we dealt with our dependence on fossil fuels head on. I urge you to take action by putting a price on carbon pollution and creating an Energy Independence Fund to help us save money, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and create jobs.” A petition was also circulated with similar wording.
A 24-year-old activist and former Kean University student has been charged with tweeting threats to black students, faculty and staff at the New Jersey school two weeks ago, prosecutors said.
Authorities said Kayla-Simone McKelvey posted the threats using a campus computer the night she attended a rally protesting racial intolerance on college campuses.
“We are saddened to learn that the person allegedly responsible was an active participant in the rally,” Kean University President Dawood Farahi said.
Several anonymous messages posted to Twitter during the Nov. 17 rally threatened to “shoot every black woman and male” at the college.
