Fresh off her appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” Hillary Clinton returned to the serious issues facing her presidential campaign on Monday, telling the “Today” show’s Savannah Guthrie that the congressional committee on Benghazi should’ve been shut down by now.

“This committee was set up, as they have admitted, for the purpose of making a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans,” an angry Clinton said during the town hall-style interview in New Hampshire. “I would never have done that, and if I were president and there were Republicans or Democrats thinking about that, I would have done everything to shut it down.”

Last week, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested that the select committee investigating Benghazi was summoned to derail the former secretary of state’s 2016 presidential bid.

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” McCarthy said on Fox News. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers Friday? What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened had we not fought.”

“Look at the situation they chose to exploit, to go after me for political reasons” Clinton said on “Today.” “The deaths of four Americans in Benghazi.”+

ON Monday, the Blount County Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution asking God to spare their region from “His coming wrath” because the “lawless judiciary” of the U.S. is forcing them recognize same-sex marriages.

The proposal has been put forth by Commissioner Karen Miller and is listed on the docket as “Resolution condemning judicial tyranny and petitioning God’s mercy. (Resolution 15-10-006)”

Miller’s resolution calls upon “all of the Officers of the State of Tennessee, the Governor, the Attorney General, and the members of the Tennessee Legislature,” to join the commission in saving “natural marriage,” and defending “the the Moral Standards of Tennessee.”

Fearing that may be too little too late, the passed resolution would also beseech God to not destroy Blount County — like He did Sodom and Gomorrah — for the sins of America.

Blount County must view itself as a very holy place. for….

Presumably God will hold off His wrath until the resolution can be considered as it is listed as seventh on the docket — right after the board takes up compensation levels for Blount County School Board Members.

It’s a great day to be a space fan: NASA has just released all the photos taken by Apollo astronauts on lunar missions; digitized and grouped by the roll of film they were shot on, that’s over 8,400 images, featuring the blurry moon, the missed shots, and above all, the great features from a great mission!

Now, NASA has released thousands of images from the project – these are high-res, and most of them unreleased images, never before seen by the public. The Apollo astronauts were sent to the moon with Hasselblad cameras, and the photos were then processed and printed – it was a long, painstaking process, but it was definitely worth it!

Trade ministers from the Asia-Pacific region have reached a deal on the Pacific trade pact that is intended to cut trade barriers and establish common standards for 12 countries, This is the largest trade pact in 20 years and has been a long-term goal of the Obama administration.

The bloc is headed by the US and includes Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam

The Obama administration “is pursuing policies under extreme secrecy,” director of responsible trade for the Sierra Club Ilana Solomon told the Washington Post. “The entire TPP has been negotiated behind closed doors. . . . The lack of dialogue is abysmal,” he added

Médecins Sans Frontières rejects Afghan officials’ claim that Taliban fighters were firing from hospital grounds and demands independent inquiry

Médecins Sans Frontières has pulled its staff out of the crisis-hit Afghan city of Kunduz after a US airstrike on its hospital, labelled a war crime by the group.

MSF says 22 people were killed by the bombing, which Afghan officials now claim was in retaliation for fire from Taliban fighters hiding in the hospital. The president, Barack Obama, announced on Sunday he was launching a full investigation into the circumstances.

In a robust rejection of the allegation that Taliban fighters were sheltering in the hospital grounds, the MSF general director, Christopher Stokes, said: “Not a single member of our staff reported any fighting inside the MSF hospital compound prior to the US airstrike on Saturday morning.

“The hospital was full of MSF staff, patients and their caretakers. It is 12 MSF staff members and 10 patients, including three children, who were killed in the attack.”

Stokes reiterated that the main hospital building was “repeatedly and very precisely hit during each aerial raid, while the rest of the compound was left mostly untouched”.

The charity denounced the US military investigation, which is expected to be concluded in a matter of days, as an inadequate response, and said an independent international investigation must take place.

“Under the clear presumption that a war crime has been committed, MSF demands that a full and transparent investigation into the event be conducted by an independent international body,” Stokes said. “Relying only on an internal investigation by a party to the conflict would be wholly insufficient.”

The charity said all critical patients had been referred to other health facilities and no MSF staff were now working in the hospital. Some have volunteered to work at other local clinics where some of the wounded have been taken.

Sunlight is good for plants, right? Not always, according to the EPA, which is now claiming that “sunny days” aren’t necessarily good for plants.

Think sunny days are good for plants? Not always. Sunlight causes #ozone to form, which harms foliage, weakens trees: http://t.co/6skU7aBsTx

— U.S. EPA (@EPA) September 29, 2015

The EPA tries to justify its claim that sunlight-driven ozone, or smog, is hurting foliage by linking to an agency webpage that ostensibly had information on this subject, but interestingly enough, the link only leads to a dead URL.
