NEWS:

http://www.jewsnews.co.il/2015/05/27/obama-thanks-muslims-for-building-the-very-fabric-of-our-nation/

Written upon the White House website for the entirety of the world to see, Obama publicly thanked Muslims for “building the very fabric of our nation.”

The statement comes about as Muslims celebrate Eid-al-Fitr (or breaking of the fast) to mark the end of Ramadan and the fasting period. For some reason though Obama decided to take noting the religious occasion one step further, and glorify the religion as a whole to the extent that it had a hand in making America as great as it is today.

According to the White House Statement:

In the United States, Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.

even today some people continue to demonstrate that they care about their own freedom, but not about the freedom of those with whom they disagree. Sadly, many who are now celebrating the victimization of their fellow human beings were themselves victims in the recent past. Rather than being for actual peace and justice, some people are just trying to have the injustice directed at someone other than themselves.

A prime example is the case of the “Sweetcakes by Melissa” bakery in Oregon, the owners of which are now in the process of being robbed of $135,000 for not making a cake. That’s right: they are being targeted by the power of government—not for threatening, defrauding, or robbing anyone—but for choosing NOT to trade with someone based on their beliefs, which they have also been court-ordered not to discuss. You read that correctly – the owners of the bakery have been ordered not to speak about their beliefs because they show “intent to discriminate.”

Seriously?

There is profound irony and hypocrisy in the fact that the lesbian couple trying to legally rob the bakery owners for not making them a cake cited “emotional damages” as the justification, as if someone NOT trading with them is more emotionally damaging than being forcibly robbed of $135,000. Anyone who is that eager to use the state to force their values and preferences onto others clearly has no regard for individual rights. Maybe someone should explain to that couple that it’s not okay to threaten or attack people just because you find their words, viewpoints and behaviors distasteful or offensive, but it’s a shame that anyone would need to.

The couple actually compared not getting their cake to being raped, as well as blaming the bakery for weight gain and their resumed smoking habit among other “symptoms.” The list of alleged mental, physical, and emotional damages submitted by the couple include

“acute loss of confidence,” “doubt,” “excessive sleep,” “felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock” “stunned,” “surprise,” “uncertainty,” “weight gain” and “worry.”

A new MTV documentary titled “White People” follows five young white people from around the country and documents their experiences with racial identity.

The documentary, which premieres July 22, is filmed by journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, who won a Pulitzer Prize for covering the Virginia Tech shootings in 2007.

A trailer for the film purports to “change the way you think about white history” and ask the “very uncomfortable” questions about white privilege and “white frustration.”

“You say the wrong thing then suddenly you are a racist,” one white man says in the trailer.

“It feels like I’m being discriminated against,” one white woman says.

Mr. Vargas wrote in a Facebook post: “We cannot have an honest conversation about race in America until we explore and unpack what ‘whiteness’ and ‘white privilege’ mean in America. This is not an easy, simply or comfortable conversation. So let’s get uncomfortable. Let’s talk.”

Visitors to the film’s website can take the seven-day racial bias cleanse “that will provide you with the daily tasks that will help you begin to de-bias yourself.”

“Whiteness often remains unexamined in conversations about race in this country, even as it acts as the implicit norm against which other racial identities are judged,” MTV President Stephen Friedman wrote in a press release. “By shining a spotlight on whiteness, we hope ‘White People’ will serve as a powerful conversation starter that encourages our audience to address racial bias through honest, judgment-free dialogue.”

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) will honor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with this year’s Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center. The award will be presented to Clinton on September 10th, the eve of the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States mission in Benghazi that killed four Americans.

The Christian Science Monitor reports that Bush, a potential GOP contender in the 2016 presidential race, is chairman of the board of trustees of the National Constitution Center located in Philadelphia.

“Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,” Bush said in a statement. “These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Liberty Medal.”

Bush’s decision to honor Clinton, who is considered by some to be a likely Democrat candidate for president in 2016, was condemned by the Independence Hall Tea Party Association of Philadelphia. According to the Christian Science Monitor, the organization released its own statement Monday, referring to the event as “extremely distressing,” and offering, instead, an opportunity for another Liberty Medal recipient.

According to the statement:

As all of you undoubtedly know, much of the blame for the Obama Administration’s failure to contain the Benghazi attack and the scandalous handling of its aftermath, can be traced directly to Ms. Clinton.

Indeed, a Congressional investigation regarding Ms. Clinton’s role in the cover-up of the Administration’s failure is still ongoing.

A newly formed organization, the Independence Hall Foundation, will hold a “What Difference Does It Make” press conference on Independence Mall, September 10, 4 PM, to denounce the selection of Ms. Clinton as the 2013 Liberty Medal recipient and to offer an alternative award (details below).

During the conference, the Foundation will name its choice of recipient(s) for the 2013 Defender of Liberty Medal.

Dom Giordano will headline the presser and we certainly hope you will consider joining us.

5 PM Prayer Vigil for the victims of the Benghazi attack will immediately follow the press conference.

The National Constitution Center’s announcement, dated June 27th, about the award of the Liberty Medal to Clinton, states:

As Secretary of State, Clinton advocated for “smart power” in foreign policy, elevating diplomacy and development and repositioning them for the 21st century – with new tools, technologies, and partners, including the private sector and civil society around the world.

National Constitution Center president and CEO Jeffrey Rosen said, “Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for ‘We the People’ not just in this country but around the globe.”

Upon the announcement of Clinton’s award in June, Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft wrote, “Really Jeb, no one else came to mind?”
